Projects and Funding

The Chebucto West Community Health Board has identified specific health issues and concerns through its community consultations. The Board can offer limited funding for local projects and activities that aim to address such health issues through the Community Development Fund (CDF). Local community groups and organizations willing to network and partner with the Board and others to improve the health of the community are encouraged to apply.

Community Development Fund projects will ideally meet the following criteria:

• Address one or more of the community’s priority health issues.
• Encourage creative and locally based responses to community health issues
• Address one or more of the “determinants of health” such as income, employment and social status, social support networks and coping skills, education, physical environments, personal health practices, and healthy child development
• Create networks and strengthen our ability to work together to build healthier communities

Before applying for project funding, all applicants are encouraged to contact the coordinator.
